NHC Learns About Leandro

New Hanover County had a rare opportunity to participate in a national study to promote public education and learn about the Leandro Plan, which if funded, would revolutionize the way that public education serves our kids. The Community came together July 20th at the Plaza on Princess/Harrelson Center to raise awareness for the Leandro Case by screening a documentary presented and curated by Working Films and participate in "The Price of Opportunity" a national research study conducted by The National Education Policy Center (The University of Colorado). They are going to states around the country to speak with education professionals, impacted families and the community at large to ask what it would look like if we were to re-envision public education...to aim beyond what is adequate and strive to build a truly excellent and equitable educational experience and system in America.

It was an amazing evening! If you would like to be added to a mailing list to learn about future events, please contact us or email info@communityconversationsilm.com.
